Founder & CEO
Josephat has 22 years of experience working with persons with disabilities in Uganda. He is the man who was behind starting Karambi Group of People with Disabilities. He has provided leadership and fundraising for this organization since initiation. Josephat holds a diploma in education and certificate in Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR). He has attended many strategic training on organizational development and management, human rights and advocacy and he is an international certified permaculture coach and he loves growing vegetables with his children and the children he teach at the Village School.
Godfrey Bwambale is our Programs Director and has been with the organization since 2013. He is passionate about transforming the lives of persons living with disabilities and regenerating the communities. Godfrey has been key in implementing community based projects aiming at improving the livelihoods of PWDS. Godfrey is a social worker and has attended several organizational strategic training. He is certified Street Business School Lead Coach. He has attained a certificate in Permaculture Design Course from the Permaculture Institute of Tanzania and holds a first degree in social worker and social administration. Godfrey has a physical disability and that doesn’t stop him from playing football.
Brenda joined KAGPWDs in September 2023 and she is our Finance Assistant. She holds a Bachelors in BBA and is currently pursuing a CPA course. She loves teamwork and associating with people despite their nature. Brenda likes working with minimum pressure. She worked with Lunar coffee limited as the Ass. Accountant for four years. In her free time, she likes visiting friends and playing volleyball and netball.
Project Officer (Permaculture & Agro ecology)
Loreen works with Karambi Group of People with Disabilities as the Project Officer (Permaculture & Agroecology Project). Loreen holds a Diploma in Environmental Management from the Kampala University, she’s a hard working lady, experienced in creating friendship with others and giving advice to young mothers. Outside office work she likes to have fun with her children, husband, friends and relatives, reading the bible and watching movies.
Judith has been working with KaGPWD since 2021, she currently serves as the Knitting Instructor. Judith holds a certificate in knitting and tailoring from St. Joseph vocational. Judith likes composing gospel songs during her free time and as well having fun with young ones at home.
Sezi serves as the officer and has been with the organization since 2004, Sezi is a social worker and has been key in implementing human rights projects targeting persons with disabilities. He is also the Coordinator Para-Social Workers Karambi Sub-County. Sezi Likes making stories with his children during his leisure time at home.
Mariam has been working with KaGPWD since 2020, Mariam is responsible for maintaining the office premises and also ensuring that KaGPWD staff are well fed. Mariam holds a certificate in secretariat and office management. In her free time Mariam likes watching movies and loves playing with young ones.
Program officer Rehabilitation
Prossy is our program officer Rehabilitation, she holds a diploma in social mobilization and development, A certificate in early Child education and a certificate in community-based rehabilitation. Prossy joined KAGPWD in late 2022. Prossy is a mother and that doesn’t stop her from doing community work. Prossy is passionate at seeing children with disabilities rehabilitated and enrolled in schools and completing their education so that they can be the change they want.
